Job Summary:

About the Role & Team 

 

As a playout producer you are working from the production office in the Playout (Hilversum). You are responsible for preparing both live and non-live sporting events for our linear TV channels. In addition, you ensure that viewers in different countries can watch competitions such as the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) and La Liga on Disney+, with the appropriate language and localization for each market. 


To arrange all incoming and outgoing lines, you’re the spider in the distribution network. You stay in close contact with our different MCR’s worldwide: Gravity Media (EMG), BT-Tower, SES, Bristol. Together with them you are responsible that every live event is available to broadcast according to the right program guidelines & instructions. In addition to being the central point of contact for booking and coordinating all transmission lines, you also have a strong understanding of, and overview of, all content traffic. This ensures that the right content is delivered to the right destination, at the right time, across our various platforms and markets. Also, part of the channel preparations is creating On Air graphics like channel bugs, banners, crawls etc.  

 

Given the nature of our industry, flexibility is essential. Working evening and weekend shifts should therefore be an integral and comfortable part of the role.

  • On Air Graphics (Playout) 
  • Present during live broadcasts and major projects in our playout 
  • Stay up to date with the latest technological developments and innovations in our industry

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required 

Level of experience, Qualifications and People Management experience 

 

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in TV productions 
  • Excellent time management skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Meeting tight deadlines without stress 
  • Fluent in Dutch and English verbally and written 
  • Experience working flexible and irregular hours 

 

Required Qualifications & Skills


Highlighting the key technical, language and job related skills required 

For this position you need to have good knowledge of technical operations for our playout, specifically for inbound (and sometimes outbound/crossconnect) transmissions of all our broadcast events, including an eye for quality requirements.  


This includes knowledge of key elements of streaming protocols, transmissions and encoding/decoding of audio/video for both common and broadcast-specific video-standards. Terms as video-standard conversion, color space, IP-video, bitrates, different types of metadata and how they can influence your signal delivery or broadcast, (shouldn't be all new to you.)
