Do you have the unique talent of hand-cutting silhouette portraits and bringing art to life right before a Guest’s eyes? Would you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where creativity, conversation, and storytelling come together to create one-of-a-kind keepsakes? If so, we are looking for Silhouette Artists at Disneyland® Park.

Our Silhouette Artists create timeless treasures that have been part of Disneyland® Resort traditions for generations of families. In this role, you will combine artistic skill, speed, and showmanship to craft accurate silhouette portraits by hand, all while engaging Guests and helping create memorable experiences.

Responsibilities:

As a Silhouette Artist, you will create hand-cut silhouette portraits that capture lasting memories for our Guests. This role blends artistry, speed, and showmanship, requiring you to produce accurate likenesses free-hand while engaging Guests in conversation and maintaining a welcoming, high-energy experience. In addition to creating silhouettes, you will help bring this classic Disneyland® tradition to life through storytelling, personalization, and exceptional Guest service.
  • Render an accurate likeness of a Guest’s silhouette portrait free-hand using paper and scissors in front of Guests
  • Produce multiple silhouette portraits in a short period of time while maintaining quality, accuracy, and conversation
  • Create single and multi-person silhouette portraits, as well as silhouettes of animals such as dogs and cats
  • Share the art and history of silhouette portraiture as part of the Guest experience
  • Demonstrate the full creative process, including preparing and applying paste to the display paper
  • Create Disney character silhouettes alongside Guest portraits upon request
  • Provide exceptional Guest service by greeting Guests, offering assistance, and helping create a welcoming and engaging experience
  • Support overall location needs, including transactions, product knowledge, and teamwork as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role
  • Proven experience cutting and drawing free-hand silhouette renderings with scissors
  • Produce a single silhouette portrait within 90 seconds
  • Ability to create on average, 60-100 silhouettes within a shift 
  • Must be able to produce detailed, quality silhouette portraits
  • Multi-tasking; can produce silhouette while engaging with Guests

As part of the application process, you will need to provide examples of your silhouette work. We are specifically looking for a minimum of 2 samples of the following:
  • Single silhouette cut out (can be adult or child)
  • Double silhouette cut out (two different silhouettes in a single cut out)
  • Silhouette of a dog or cat

You will need to share a link (URL) to access the samples when you complete the application. There will be a question asking for the URL link

SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am. Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.
