Senior Specialist

What Will You Do…

  • Support all Command Post (CP) functions, including security enforcement, emergency response, dispatch operations, and emergency notifications.

  • Monitor fire and HVAC Systems, interpret alarm indicators to coordinate timely response by communicating with local police, the fire departments, and dispatch operations.

  • Perform core Rover duties, including campus and perimeter patrol, building inspections, provide break coverage, and more. 

  • Photograph new employees/contractors and create identification cards. 

  • Support Global Operations Center, including call intake, service request processing, and dispatch functions. 

  • Provide guidance and informal leadership during routine operations, and to all medical, fire, security, and other safety-related emergencies and incidents, and write comprehensive reports following established procedures. 

  • Monitor internal radio channels (HVAC, Electrical, Maintenance, Construction, and Safety) to support coordination of dispatch based on service requests.

  • Completes and issues hot work permits and conducts inspections per established hot work permit processes to preserve safety at ESPN facilities.

  • Conduct fire watch assignments in designated hot work areas. 

  • Serve as a role model by reinforcing expectations of the Security Associate and Security Specialist roles.

  • Identify and recommend enhancements to security procedures and operational processes.

  • Develop and maintain proficiency in all security system applications, including SIMS, S2, Lenel, CCTV, and related platforms. Identify and report safety and security hazards, taking appropriate action to mitigate risk.

  • Utilize the Everbridge Notification System to support emergency communications, including contact uploads, notifications, and polling as required.

  • Secure property as directed and may provide security presence at special events. 

  • In some instances, you may support event operations, including establishing barricades, operating gates, and directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic. 

  • Provide professional and courteous assistance to employees, contractors, visitors, and guests. 

  • Perform general security system checks and access control duties at high-traffic exterior posts in accordance with established procedures. 

  • Perform vehicle or truck inspections in accordance with established inspection protocols. 

  • Monitor and enforce campus parking regulations in accordance with established procedures. 

  • Accurately create work orders documenting the requester's name, location, and type of service needed. 

  • Assist in the distribution and tracking of related departmental keys. 

  •  Respond to alarms and incidents when dispatched within established timeframes, including rapid on-site assessment and coordination.

  • Monitor the company's external and internal phone lines and direct incoming telephone calls as appropriate

  • Must obtain and maintain Command Post certification and all credentials necessary to perform the role.

  • Must obtain and maintain MSA certification to become an X-Ray screener, and occasionally be assigned to the distribution center.

You will need these skills to be successful in the role…

  • +3 years of security or law enforcement experience. 

  • Must work a 2nd shift-3:00-11:30 PM with Thursday and Friday off, subject to change depending on the needs of the operation. *There is no light-duty status*

  • Must possess and maintain a Driver’s license valid in the state of Connecticut. 

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, DMV check, and urinalysis drug screen. 

  • Must currently possess and maintain a valid CT Guard certification.

  • Must have the flexibility to work varying schedules (hours and days off) and work overtime as approved. 

  • Must have the ability to perform basic work tasks on computers, including using MS Outlook email, Word, Smartsheet, and TEAMS. 

  • Always maintain a professional presence in image and interactions. 

  • Must complete required hot work permit training.

The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $54,000.00 - $72,300.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
