Executive Producer, Special Events

Disney Corporate Creative Resources (DCCR) is a full-service creative and production organization that supports Disney’s internal corporate clients with strategic planning & communications, full-scale event production, video, graphic design, and emerging technology solutions. We deliver integrated, end-to-end projects that bring ideas to life across every touchpoint to ensure high-quality creative deliverables with cost-effective results.
The DCCR Special Events team produces imaginative, turnkey experiences that inspire and connect—ranging from leadership meetings and employee engagement programs to large-scale conferences and select external-facing activations—all designed to reflect Disney’s creativity, innovation, and brand excellence.
Job Summary:
The Executive Producer, Special Events serves as the strategic architect and executive lead for the creative vision, high-stakes planning, and technical execution and event management of signature corporate and employee engagement initiatives at the Robert A. Iger Building in New York City and the Theater. Operating with full regional autonomy and minimal direction, this role owns the end-to-end lifecycle of event production—driving creative innovation, directing complex show flows, and maintaining absolute fiscal and operational accountability. This role will transform high-level corporate objectives into strategic brand experiences that reinforce Disney’s culture, deepen employee advocacy, and serve as a powerful vehicle for corporate storytelling.
The portfolio encompasses high-impact executive engagements, global town halls, and large-scale cultural milestones. As the primary strategic partner for NYC-based activations, this role navigates complex stakeholder landscapes, consulting with business unit leaders, facilities, and global departments to ensure every event aligns with overarching enterprise goals.
As a senior decision-maker within the Special Events team, the Executive Producer is responsible for elevating the department’s regional influence—pioneering new production methodologies, ensuring flawless delivery under pressure, and acting as a trusted advisor to executive leadership. This position is instrumental in defining the New York campus experience, bridging the gap between local operations and Burbank-based strategy, and upholding a relentless standard of excellence and guest service.
By synthesizing visionary storytelling with expert-level production strategy, the Executive Producer delivers high-caliber events that inspire connection, drive engagement, and define Disney’s standard for operational and creative brilliance.
Responsibilities:
Produce and oversee a diverse portfolio of corporate and special events each year—from initial concept through flawless execution. Responsibilities include event strategy and program development, creative and thematic design, production and logistics planning, script and presentation management, entertainment and content integration, venue selection and management, budget oversight, food and beverage coordination, and post-event evaluation. Scale of events range from 5 – 100s of attendees.
Leads, manages and directs cross-functional event teams of varying sizes, providing clear direction, fostering collaboration, and ensuring each experience reflects Disney’s brand excellence and storytelling spirit as well as sources and hires agency temps and non-Disney support as needed.
Serve as a subject matter expert on New York, vendors, and production resources, maintaining deep knowledge of innovative event design, emerging technologies, and industry trends that enhance guest experience and operational excellence.
Partners with Senior Level Disney executives and stakeholders to intake Event needs and objectives and works with a variety of teams to ensure event comes to life and delights customer, operating seamlessly with all technology and production, operations management and conference and catering to ensure a spectacular event.
Support the overarching goals and objectives of the department, each event, and the client. Collaborate closely with the Department Director on special projects as assigned, which may include contributing to creative development, supporting event elements led by other team members, and assisting with client engagement and relationship management.
Basic Qualifications:
7+ years of progressive experience in large-scale event production and strategic planning within a Fortune 500 corporate environment or a major global entertainment studio.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Event Management, Technical Production, or a related discipline.
Superior verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record of distilling complex production concepts into persuasive presentations for C-suite executives and senior leadership.
Exceptional leadership acumen; demonstrated ability to command cross-functional teams, orchestrate high-value vendor partnerships, and provide authoritative creative and logistical direction under high-stakes conditions.
Proven ability to synthesize complex business objectives into immersive, high-impact brand experiences that drive employee engagement and align with enterprise-wide strategy.
Mastery of project management methodologies, possessing the agility to oversee a multi-million dollar portfolio of simultaneous projects while adhering to rigorous deadlines.
Extensive experience in lifecycle budget management, including forensic financial tracking, complex vendor contract negotiation, and the optimization of production resource allocation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep institutional knowledge of the Disney brand, corporate culture, and internal operational workflows to ensure seamless enterprise integration.
Advanced certifications (e.g., CMP, CSEP, PMP) or a Master’s degree in Meeting & Event Management are highly desirable.
A sophisticated creative sensibility with an expert eye for environmental design, narrative storytelling, and innovative audience engagement strategies.
Comprehensive functional knowledge of multi-disciplinary show production, including advanced staging, broadcast-quality video, complex audio signal flows, and architectural lighting design.
The hiring range for this position in New York is $145,800.00 to $195,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
