Disney General Entertainment Content is a collection of renowned content brands at The Walt Disney Company creating original entertainment for the Company’s streaming platform, Disney+.
The Assistant Manager, Social & Digital, IM SEA for The Walt Disney Southeast Asia will be responsible for leading digital and social media campaigns in the Southeast Asia region, including the Philippines.
This role will be responsible for leading the Digital and Social Media campaigns in support of both Disney Studios and Disney+ titles. This includes strategy formulation and creative ideation for brand and title campaigns, encompassing global and regional content. The core objective is to gain awareness, engagement and consideration for titles/products being pushed. Therefore, this role requires a strong grasp of consumer insights, latest trend and innovations for both digital media and social media platforms. They should also be experienced in different content formats on digital and social media and how to leverage these formats creatively and effectively.
For Digital, he/she will be responsible in ideating, implementing, and monitoring digital media campaignsm such as but not limited to display ads in premium publishers and programmatic. He/She will be working closely with the Brand and Content (B&C) marketing leads in identifying digital’s role in brand and title campaigns, as well as with the media and digital agencies in implementing and monitoring these campaigns. He/She will also identify paid media campaign metrics and ensure that these are met.
For Social, he/she will serve as the main gatekeeper of the brand among fans on social keeping them informed and engaged with our brands and content. This entails identifying social media content pieces that will drive reach and engagement, as well as preparing overall content strategy and community guidelines in Disney Philippines social media handles – covering Disney+ and Disney Studios (Disney Studios, Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios). He/She will work closely with the publicity lead in identifying and tapping social media communities that may help drive both reach and engagement for our brands and titles. . He/She will be working closely with the Brand and Content marketing leads in identifying social’s role in brand and title campaigns, as well as with the social media agency in implementing and monitoring these campaigns, such as managing content calendars, scheduling, and publishing of content.
Responsibilities:
- Digital media buys and campaigns to support B&C title push in the SEA region, including the Philippines
- Social media support for Disney+ and Studios Entertainment (Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios) in the SEA region, including the Philippines, and regional support for Asian titles
- Manage media and social media agencies
- Localising the creative campaign, always on and content briefs (provided by the regional and B&C teams) for the local agency teams, with an emphasis on identifying key tactical frameworks in support of the marketing campaign and achieving market specific goals in the respective market
- Deliver clear direction and inspiration to creative teams and agencies in developing sustainable and engaging concepts
- Oversee Brand and Content campaigns on digital platforms of respective region
- Manage local always on social media asset production
- Manage all local social media activations in the respective market
- Liaise with global for asset sourcing and content approvals for regional content
- Review and approve social captions – as voice of the brand there maybe times where you have to step on and write copy so it is in the correct tone of voice.
- Oversee the scheduling, calendar management and final approvals of all social media posts in the respective market
- Coordination with administrative, creative, finance, legal services, and other shared services in order to carry out campaigns
- Provide reporting and analysis of results, including strategic recommendations and tactical tips that are directly related to insights in the respective market
- Analyse current-state social media channels and determine areas of improvement, expansion and refinement
- Have a strong awareness of emerging trends and behaviours on social channels. Able to link behaviours to root causes and interpret digital culture to find relevance for the business
- Consistent and strong collaborator who elevates the work of cross-functional teams
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in social planning in house or at digital/ social agencies, preferably with experience in content and/or entertainment
- Experience in Digital Marketing/Social Media/Content/Editorial/
- Should be fluent in written and spoken English and Filipino
- Creative individual who loves entertainment content, passionate about Disney’s brands and content, and is passionate about Asian titles
- Social Native who is embedded into netizen culture
- Hands-on experience developing insights from social listening. Detailed understanding of social analytics across channels. Ability to synthesize data from many sources into actionable insights
- Highly informed and thoughtful perspectives on social platforms. Ability to adapt brand expression and campaign strategy to relevant social channel experiences and strategy
- Working knowledge of tools a plus, e.g. Sprinklr, Social Bakers, Hootsuite, Meltwater, Radian 6 etc
- Ability to work at rapid pace
