Job Summary
Own Disney’s search for incremental advertising growth beyond our core streaming video portfolio. The Senior Principal Product Manager, Strategic Growth is the single accountable owner for identifying, validating, and incubating new ad revenue opportunities that sit outside the scope of existing pillar roadmaps. Operating as an individual contributor reporting to the VP, Addressable Ad Product, this leader runs opportunities end-to-end: market and competitive research, business-case development, cross-functional incubation, and the go/no-go recommendation that decides whether an opportunity graduates into a funded pillar roadmap. This is a new role created to give horizon-scanning and growth incubation a dedicated, senior owner.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize incremental ad revenue opportunities beyond Addressable Ad Product’s core streaming video portfolio (e.g., gaming, connected experiences, and other adjacent inventory), building an evidence-based view of market size, advertiser demand, and competitive precedent.
- Own the end-to-end evaluation of each opportunity: define the problem statement, size the addressable revenue and investment case, and stress-test technical, legal, and go-to-market feasibility with cross-functional partners.
- Incubate validated opportunities through early-stage product definition and pilot execution, operating as the de facto product lead until an opportunity is mature.
- Build and maintain a rolling horizon roadmap of growth bets, and make clear go/no-go and sequencing recommendations to the VP, Addressable Ad Product and executive stakeholders.
- Represent Addressable Ad Product in cross-organizational conversations with Sales, Business Development, Finance, and Legal on new revenue channels, ensuring incubated opportunities align with broader Disney Entertainment & ESPN strategy.
- Partner with Engineering, Data Science, and Design leadership to translate validated opportunities into resourcing asks and staffing plans as they graduate into the core roadmap.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of product management experience, including a track record of identifying and launching net-new revenue streams or business lines within a large, matrixed organization.
- Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior individual contributor with high autonomy – defining strategy, building the case, and driving execution without formal authority over the teams involved.
- Experience translating ambiguous, early-stage opportunities into structured business cases, including market sizing, competitive analysis, and investment tradeoffs.
- Strong executive presence, with experience presenting strategic recommendations and go/no-go decisions directly to VP- and C-suite-level stakeholders.
- Familiarity with digital advertising, CTV, or programmatic ecosystems, including how advertisers evaluate and buy new inventory types.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience evaluating or launching adjacent advertising inventory (e.g., gaming, audio, retail media, or other emerging channels).
- Background in corporate strategy, venture/incubation, or 0-to-1 product roles within media, entertainment, or consumer technology.
- Working knowledge of agentic buying, programmatic standards, or automated demand channels.
- Experience partnering with Sales, Finance, and Legal to structure and launch new commercial products.
- Experience with:
- Business case development and financial modeling for new product lines.
- Cross-functional program leadership in large, matrixed organizations.
- Digital advertising, CTV, or programmatic ad tech ecosystems.
