Sr Manager, Consumer Products Insights
Job Summary:
At Disney, our stories, characters, and experiences inspire audiences around the world. The Enterprise Research & Analytics - Consumer Products Insights team helps strengthen that connection by translating data into clear, actionable insights that inform product strategy and business decisions.
The Consumer Products Insights team provides insights to enable consumer-centric decision-making across Disney Consumer Products (DCP) — bringing together primary research, secondary sources, and analytics to build a holistic understanding of consumers, audiences, and the marketplace.
The Senior Manager, Consumer Products Insights, will bring an innovative, problem-solving mindset and a passion for developing and growing a team. The role reports to the Director, Consumer Products Research & Insights and has multiple direct reports. The role supports both The Americas Region and Global Disney Consumer Products Teams across Licensing, Marketing and Publishing and will be based in Celebration, FL.
What you will do:
- Franchise & Product Strategy
- Assess the impact of Disney stories, characters, and franchises on merchandise demand, identifying growth opportunities, white-space opportunities, and optimal franchise-to-product alignments across global markets.
- Licensee, Retail & Strategic Partner Engagement
- Provide insights that support licensing partnerships, contract negotiations, retailer sell-in, Joint Business Planning, and channel expansion. Develop and present compelling, data-driven recommendations that build credibility and influence commercial decisions.
- Marketing & Consumer Engagement
- Lead research supporting franchise and merchandise marketing, including campaign development, audience insights, and marketing effectiveness measurement.
- Insights Integration & Strategic Synthesis
- Synthesize research and data from across the company with syndicated and industry sources to develop cohesive stories that inform strategic decisions.
- Foundational & Global Insights Programs
- Lead large-scale global foundational research programs that establish long-term strategic direction for Disney Consumer Products, Games, and Publishing.
Responsibilities:
- Engage partners to understand their business must-wins and strategic priorities and align the research program to inform their strategy and answer critical questions proactively.
- Project management across all aspects of qualitative and quantitative research, including development and review of the research brief, questionnaires, discussion guides, stimuli management, analysis plan, reporting and presentation of research results.
- Manage external research vendor relationships from proposal through delivery, including evaluating proposals, selecting the right partner, establishing clear expectations, and ensuring key milestones, deadlines, and deliverables are met.
- Manage hundreds of internal ad hoc requests each year, prioritizing work by strategic importance and business impact, communicating timelines and trade-offs, and maintaining an accurate project pipeline.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team currently consisting of a Manager and an Analyst, setting clear expectations, providing ongoing feedback, supporting career growth, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Identify and implement emerging methodologies, including AI-enabled research and analytics approaches, to evolve the research program, improve efficiency, and increase its impact on business decisions.
You Will Have / Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of primary market research experience required, managing custom research (across both qualitative and quantitative studies) and working with syndicated research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting insights to senior leaders and executives (Directors, VPs)
- Demonstrated leadership across direct and indirect reporting relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to derive actionable insights and translate findings into recommendations.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with line of business and data partners
- Experience with project management, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, vendors, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into concise, visually compelling stories using PowerPoint, Keynote, or similar tools.
- Comfortable working within a fluid and flexible culture; adjusts well to change and/or shifting priorities.
- Strong analytical skills –familiarity with SPSS, DisplayR is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating generative AI and other emerging technologies into consumer research workflows, reporting automation, knowledge management, or data visualization.
- Experience conducting research in a consumer products and/or entertainment company.
- Experience partnering with major retailers, e-commerce platforms, and consumer products licensees
- Experience developing and delivering persuasive B2B presentations that establish credibility and trust, influence business partners, and drive positive commercial outcomes.
- Experience designing and leading multi-market or global research studies, including adapting approaches to regional market needs.
- Experience in managing and/or directing external research agencies.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Education:
Master’s degree in related area

The hiring range for this position in Celebration, FL is $145,900 - $195,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
