About the Role

The Senior Manager, Sales Strategy & Solutions plays a pivotal role in leading critical initiatives to maximize revenue growth and optimize profitability across the collection of all Gatherings businesses, including brands such as Meetings and Events, Imagination Campus, Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons, and WDW Celebration and Events. This position is responsible for leading strategic and commercial projects that maximize revenue and margin profitability through initiatives such as sales channel performance, space and venue utilization, product development, and technology solutions across multiple channels. With a strong focus on innovation and collaboration, this role ensures alignment with organizational goals while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. This leader will leverage a strong commercial mindset, entrepreneurial approach, analytical skills, and strategic storytelling, while engaging executives, partners, and stakeholders to deliver impactful recommendations that shape the future of the Gatherings organization.  The role reports to the VP of Sales Strategy & Services, Gatherings, with a team of direct reports.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, Sales Strategy, you will lead teams and initiatives to align business strategies with organizational priorities. This role requires strategic and critical thinking, a commercial mindset, analytical skills, collaboration, and the ability to inspire success while navigating dynamic conditions. Below are the key responsibilities:

  • Lead sales channel distribution and product strategies, with responsibility for leading data and client-insight-driven sales channel decisions and the supporting analytics to drive significant direct revenue contributions.
  • Project manage the development and implementation of sales channel strategies, including associated technology capabilities and process solutions, leading partners and processes to ensure seamless go-to-market across for sales channels.
  • Develop new sales programs, reimagine base business models, and champion sales technology capabilities that shape the future of sales channels and distribution strategies.
  • Lead strategic approach for direct revenue pricing initiatives, including Catering Food and Beverage, Entertainment, and Fine Photography.
  • Lead Groups venue strategies, including access, utilization, pricing, and securing function space in future capital projects.
  • Represent the Gatherings organization and its collection of business in cross-functional forums and project teams, providing leadership on sales needs and strategic business impacts.
  • Build strategic business recommendations and deliver to partners and senior leaders, including Senior Executive audience
  • Champion a culture of excellence, collaboration, diversity, and innovation within the team

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in sales strategy, commercial strategy, product development, merchandising or financial analysis/analytical role.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in business analytics/strategy.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with experience deciphering complex business models and profitable strategies.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit driving innovative ideas and challenging the status quo.
  • Proven experience leading strategic initiatives focused on business growth and development.
  • Proficiency creating compelling presentations and visualizations for executive audiences under tight timelines.
  • Skilled at building trust, influencing others, and navigating ambiguity.
  • Experienced with effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously with varying stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Well versed knowledge of the travel and/or hospitality industry
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including managing teams
  • Demonstrated experience create a culture of new and innovative ideas
  • Proven familiarity with Disney business domain knowledge (experience in multiple businesses and segments)
  • Knowledge of Disney Parks and Disney Signature Experiences

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a business field (e.g. Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing) or equivalent expereince

Preferred Education: 

  • Master’s degree in business administration

Primary Location: Orlando, Florida


The hiring range for this position in Florida is $145,900 to $195,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
