Sr Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Technology

The Enterprise Sourcing team supports sourcing and procurement needs across corporate functions and business segments, including the development and execution of category management strategies for Technology.
What You Will Do
The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Technology will lead a team responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across key technology categories. This role partners with senior Technology, Finance, Sourcing, and business stakeholders to make informed supplier and technology decisions, maximize value, mitigate risk, and negotiate agreements that support business priorities. The Senior Manager will develop and deliver strategic category plans, support the Sourcing Annual Operating Plan, and provide thought leadership on procurement strategies, processes, supplier management, and operational improvements. This role requires strong executive presence, sound judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to build trusted relationships across a complex, matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage technology category strategies that support business priorities and deliver against savings, value, and risk mitigation goals.
- Lead complex sourcing engagements from intake through contract award, including supplier assessment, onboarding, competitive bidding, renewals, negotiations, contracting, and supplier management.
- Use market intelligence, spend data, and analytical frameworks to evaluate supplier markets, identify opportunities, and inform sourcing and negotiation strategies.
- Support continuous improvement of sourcing policies, processes, tools, and governance standards.
- Ensure consistent application of procurement processes, standards, and best practices across stakeholder groups.
- Develop, monitor, and report performance measures that demonstrate value, savings, compliance, and supplier performance.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with Segment and functional leaders to understand business needs and advance sourcing and procurement initiatives.
- Track and communicate savings, spend compliance, risks, and variances to the Director, Enterprise Sourcing, and key stakeholders.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and compliance activities in partnership with business stakeholders, as appropriate.
- Provide leadership, coaching, direction, and performance management for the Technology Sourcing team.
- Establish and strengthen strategic supplier relationships that support business objectives and long-term value creation.
- Serve as a strategic business partner by identifying stakeholder requirements and delivering sourcing solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
- Provide rigorous cost, financial, and market analysis with a focus on total cost of ownership and business impact.
- Prepare for and execute clear, structured negotiations aligned to the Strategic Sourcing process.
- Identify, develop, and implement best practices in supplier management, procurement, and category management.
- Develop team capabilities and broaden sourcing, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Manage three or more direct reports supporting Technology sourcing categories.
- Demonstrate exemplary integrity, ethics, and professionalism in all business interactions.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, category management, or a related field.
- 5–7+ years of leadership experience managing teams in a strategic sourcing or procurement environment.
- 3–5+ years of Technology category management experience, including development and implementation of category strategies.
- Experience supporting senior Technology executives and stakeholders in developing and implementing sourcing strategies.
- Strong executive presence, presentation skills, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Technology category sourcing experience across areas such as SaaS, hardware, telecom, network/infrastructure, content creation, cloud, monitoring and observability, data center, IT security, enterprise identity and access management, data analytics, AI tools, and IT managed or professional services.
- Strong knowledge of category management frameworks, including analysis, strategy development, implementation, measurement, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to understand technology products, services, and supplier markets and translate business needs into effective sourcing strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and address stakeholder needs across multiple business units.
- Ability to work strategically, influence change, and develop strong business cases.
- Ability to lead and manage multicultural, geographically dispersed teams.
- Experience leading and managing virtual teams.
- Strong financial, cost, and quantitative analysis skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and sustain high-performing teams.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Customer-service orientation and client-centered approach.
- Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and align resources to organizational goals.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to build partnerships across functions and business units.
- Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, market assessments, competitive RFXs, bid strategy, complex negotiations, contract management, SLAs, and risk management for technology categories.
- Demonstrated track record managing large, complex technology spend portfolios, ideally $500M+ across global or regional categories.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internal or external business consulting experience.
- Experience in television, media, entertainment, multinational, or technology companies.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant area, such as, supply chain management, finance, technology, business or equivalent work experience

- MBA or another quantitative discipline
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $168,200.00 to $205,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
