Director, Corporate Communications LATAM

How will you contribute to our magical experience?
Corporate Communications Director is responsible for proactively leading aspects of The Walt Disney Company’s LATAM Corporate Communications strategy. Reporting to the Vice President, The Walt Disney Company LATAM, he/she is a strategic partner to key internal and external stakeholders to ensure a unified vision of the company in every communication channel. Works at the strategic, consultative and operational level, with a remit that includes Corporate Communications, for the region, and overseeing ESPN Sports Communications across LATAM.
The Corporate Communications Director will be responsible for:
Contributing to the development and management of Disney brand reputation through external/ internal communications strategies and media relations in support of the organization’s strategic goals. Will be responsible for the development and execution of communications strategies (internal and external) thought leadership, corporate messaging, and issues/crisis management relative to the strategic direction of the organization and the management of its image and positioning with employees and stakeholders.
With an emphasis on proactive storytelling that highlights Disney’s efforts in a highly engaging fashion to enhance the company’s reputation with key stakeholders – including consumers, employees, advocacy organizations and the media.
The successful leader will have extensive experience leading a communication responsible for multi-stakeholder engagement and a comprehensive understanding of how communication and media relations activities yield business outcomes. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a track record of driving success in a fast-paced environment, solid relationships with external partners, and will have exceptional and effective communication skills.
Communications
- Create, develop and deliver an integrated communications strategy to drive awareness of Disney and protect and enhance its reputation across LATAM
- Work with the VP and the Senior Leadership team to deliver a corporate narrative and external engagement strategy that builds advocacy around Disney’s vision and strategy
- In collaboration with the relevant teams, oversee the following areas across LATAM; Corporate Communications; Internal Communications, ESPN Sports Communications, Media Relations; Crisis Management, Corporate Social Responsibility and DE&I
- Act as overall LATAM Communications lead for Disney+, ensuring alignment of communications across the region and driving strong business and media coverage
- Oversee the development and execution of internal communications strategies to facilitate awareness, understanding and buy-in among key stakeholders; lead and drive integration communications for LATAM; develop messaging and deliverables to support employee engagement and cultural transformation efforts, in close partnership with HR across the region.
- Create and manage annual communications plans and campaigns that balance the needs of the various business areas to deliver integrated communications plans, act as a centre of excellence and support for teams across the business
- Act as Disney LATAM’s spokesperson on a day-to-day basis; support senior leaders in their external engagement through briefing and coaching
- Lead communications around occasional crisis situations or reputational risks by working with stakeholders and providing authoritative strategies and execution
- Ensure the alignment of internal and external communications activity

What we need from you to be part of this story:
- Master´s / Bachelor´s Degree and recognised experience in corporate communications.
- A significant track record of success in a Corporate Communications role with regional scope and international vision in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of developing strategic communications successfully.
- Strong knowledge of digital media and current local/global trends in media consumption
- Outstanding communications skills - Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills (High attention to detail).
- This role demands a strategic thinker with a proactive approach to storytelling and relationship building with the media.
- Ability to engage and deploy cross- functional resources to achieve communications and objectives.
- Ability to use data to build strong narratives, and capture marketing opportunities.
- Established network of media contacts and a demonstrated ability to build relationships with members of the press.
- Issues / Reputation and Crisis Management proven experience.
- Knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility and DE&I trends.
- Strong relationship builder, with good influential, interpersonal and networking skills
- Motivational team leader, able to coach team members to support career development
- Track record of managing multiple assignments to strict deadlines within a demanding business environment
- A proactive approach to developing strategies and plans that add value, delivering results through significant change
- A collaborative team player able to operate effectively in the complexity of an international matrix organization.
The role requires international business travel.
