About Global Security Design & Delivery
The Walt Disney’s Global Security Design & Delivery (GSDD) provides specialist technical expertise, working closely with operational Security teams and Security Operations Centres (SOCs) to understand business and security needs and translate them into secure, scalable physical security technology solutions.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Design & Delivery - International (INTL), the Senior Project Manager, Global Security Design & Delivery serves as an experienced technical project management lead and subject matter expert for The Walt Disney Company’s regional physical security technology environment. The role provides senior project, technical, and portfolio leadership and is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and lifecycle management of critical physical security technology, spanning new office and site installations, relocations, lifecycle replenishment programmes, security risk remediation, and the ongoing management of security platforms and applications.
Beyond project delivery, the role is responsible for the operational resilience and sustainment of the regional security technology environment. The role directly manages the Regional Technical Supervisor, who leads technical sustainment and support services, ensuring critical physical security systems and the Regional Security Operations Centre (SOC) maintain high levels of availability, reliability, and operational continuity. The role also provides oversight of the regional technical support MSA and associated vendor relationship, ensuring service providers deliver against agreed service levels, performance expectations, technical standards, and support requirements.
Working across the APAC operational Security team, Corporate Real Estate, IT, Workplace, Facilities, and Security technology partners, the role brings together project delivery, technical expertise, operational support, and long-term technology planning to ensure the regional physical security technology environment consistently delivers a high level of availability and continues to meet the evolving needs of the business.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning, Delivery & Change:
- Define and manage project scope, objectives, deliverables, success criteria, dependencies, timelines, resources, and governance requirements in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans for small, medium, and large-scale technology and security deployments, ensuring effective coordination of activities and resources throughout the project lifecycle.
- Apply structured project and programme management methodologies to prioritise and manage multiple concurrent and complex initiatives across the region.
- Manage changes to project scope, timelines, resources, technical requirements, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring appropriate impact assessment, governance, approval, and communication.
- Monitor delivery progress and proactively address issues, dependencies, and constraints to maintain project objectives and agreed outcomes.
Design & Technical Leadership:
- Lead the design and overall deployment of enterprise-driven security platforms, systems, and projects across APAC.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, fit for purpose, and aligned with business requirements, company standards, departmental policies, legislative requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight throughout the design, deployment, commissioning, and operational lifecycle.
- Provide first-line technical oversight and sustainment of regional security systems, coordinating with internal technical teams, specialist functions, and external technology partners to resolve technical issues, system failures, and defects.
- Establish effective technical escalation pathways and ensure complex technical issues are appropriately managed through to resolution.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership:
- Act as a key point of contact between APAC and GSDE technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and other relevant functions.
- Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships throughout the project and operational lifecycle.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and governance activities, ensuring timely communication of key decisions, actions, requirements, and delivery priorities.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, deliverables, dependencies, and accountabilities.
- Foster a collaborative and accountable working environment, providing direction, coordination, and support to project and technical teams as required.
Risk, Quality & Governance:
- Identify, assess, document, and actively manage project, technical, operational, financial, and delivery risks.
- Develop and implement appropriate mitigation and contingency strategies to minimise business and operational impact.
- Establish and maintain appropriate quality standards, processes, and controls to ensure technical deliverables meet agreed business, technical, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, validation, and acceptance activities to confirm that solutions meet defined requirements and stakeholder expectations.
- Maintain security system governance across APAC, ensuring alignment with company policies, industry standards, legislative requirements, regulatory obligations, and applicable security frameworks.
Financial, Commercial & Vendor Management:
- Develop, manage, and maintain project budgets, ensuring resources and expenditure are effectively controlled and aligned with approved business objectives.
- Manage capital expenditure (CAPEX), Annual Operating Plan (AOP) requirements, forecasting, financial administration, and associated reporting within the scope of assigned projects and programmes.
- Monitor expenditure, commitments, forecasts, financial performance, and variances, escalating financial risks and opportunities as appropriate.
- Develop project scopes of work and provide timely Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) costing, technology estimates, technical proposals, and quotations to support budget planning, business cases, procurement, and investment decisions.
- Lead the technical and commercial engagement with external vendors, contractors, suppliers, and technology partners, including evaluation of quotations and identification of value-engineered and cost-effective solutions while maintaining required technical, quality, security, and regulatory standards.
- Performance-manage external vendors, contractors, suppliers, and technology partners against agreed scope, service levels, commercial commitments, quality standards, and delivery milestones.
- Oversee procurement activities and ensure suppliers deliver in accordance with contractual agreements, approved specifications, project requirements, and agreed timelines.
Governance, Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation covering project plans, requirements, technical specifications, designs, governance, financial information, risks, decisions, and delivery status.
- Maintain departmental processes, standards, governance materials, and documentation repositories to ensure information remains current, accessible, and appropriately controlled.
- Provide regular and accurate reporting to stakeholders and senior management covering project status, milestones, financial performance, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and key actions.
- Ensure project and operational documentation supports effective governance, auditability, knowledge transfer, and ongoing system management.
Operational Management & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead post-project and post-implementation reviews to assess delivery outcomes, technical performance, stakeholder satisfaction, financial performance, and achievement of agreed objectives.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, incorporating lessons learned and best practices to strengthen future project delivery, operational resilience, governance, and security technology capabilities.
- Maintain a continuous strategic and operational partnership with the Director – Design & Delivery INTL, supporting agreed business priorities, regional initiatives, governance requirements, reporting, and activities aligned with the scope and objectives of the role.
Work Arrangement Requirements:
- Requirement to travel and be on-call.
- Available to the Security Systems Strategy and Technology APAC for emergencies.
Requirements:
- At least 5-10 years of experience in an IT role and experienced in designing/architecting security packages to include CCTV, Access Control and Intruder alarm platforms.
- Solid working knowledge in IT infrastructure, operating platforms and software solutions
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello). Ability to create detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Strong understanding of the technologies and tools relevant to the projects being managed, including familiarity with software development, systems architecture, and security standards
- Ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial management related to project costs. Ability to analyze financial reports and ensure projects remain within budget.
- Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and shifting priorities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency in creating clear documentation and status reports.
- Skills in managing change effectively, helping teams and stakeholders navigate through project changes smoothly.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and methodologies to ensure project deliverables meet established standards.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, understanding their needs and managing expectations. Skilled in negotiating and influencing decisions.
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues, assess risks, and develop effective solutions. Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to establish credibility as a Business Partner respected by client-base with proven ability to influence.
- Manage the delivery of appropriate workflow processes and projects identifying opportunities and initiatives which would improve the efficiency of the area.
- Monitor supplier contracts to ensure that the defined SLA and related metrics are achieved identifying, taking and communicating any corrective action which might be required to ensure their delivery.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Technical Project Management, or related fields
- Certification in LENEL, GENETEC is a plus
