Job Summary:

The Production Assistant is an entry-level content creator who supports the end-to-end video production process across The Walt Disney Company’s digital brands. Working under supervision, this role assists with editing, physical production, and asset management tasks as directed, with a focus on learning established workflows, brand standards, and team processes.

This role is ideal for a multifaceted content creator who will work in both editorial and production environments, helping to execute a variety of digital-first projects across The Walt Disney Company’s many brands. The role will focus primarily on hands-on editing, with occasional on-set production responsibilities.

As part of the Digital Studio Marketing team, this role requires collaboration with producers, designers, motion graphics artists, marketing teams, and external stakeholders to create high-quality digital content for on-demand video platforms, social media, and more. Beyond technical execution, the Production Assistant will help shape brand narratives, adapt to evolving platform trends, and push the creative boundaries of digital storytelling. A deep understanding of TWDC’s IP, brands, and audience expectations is critical to success in this role. For someone passionate about editing, production, and innovation, this position offers the opportunity to create industry-leading content for one of the world’s most iconic entertainment brands.

Responsibilities:

Editing & Post Production

  • Edit compelling and high-quality short-form digital content for TWDC brands
  • Manage media assets, versioning, and final deliveries, ensuring adherence to branding guidelines
  • Implement best practices for file organization, media management, and export workflows for multiple platforms
  • Assist with color grading, audio mixing, and sound design to enhance video quality as needed
  • Create motion graphics and animated captions using Adobe After Effects templates as needed

Project Management

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, creative, and production departments
  • Track and update the status of projects through multiple stages of development

Production & Content Capture

  • Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to capture high-quality footage
  • Troubleshoot production challenges and technical issues in the field

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in video production, editing, and digital content creation
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, After Effects, Photoshop)
  • Experience working with social and digital marketing specifications, including different aspect ratios and platform-specific formats
  • Basic storytelling ability from the lens of a producer and video editor, with a defined sense of pacing, structure, and brand tone
  • Detail-oriented, fast-paced problem solver who can manage multiple projects and deliver polished, engaging content under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to assist with production shoots, including basic camera, audio, and lighting support
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, receptive attitude toward feedback
  • Strong interest in Disney IP and willingness to learn brand guidelines
  • Ability to travel as needed and to work odd hours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with various creative plug-ins, including Maxon, Captioneer, etc.
  • Experience executing quick-turn edits and adapting horizontal content for vertical formats
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Airtable, Frame.io, or similar platforms

Required Education:

  • No specific education is required, but a BFA or equivalent degree in film, art, graphic design, advertising, or a related field is a plus
