Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney’s entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and managing a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also manages technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Job Summary:
- As a Senior Software Engineer (Salesforce), you will use your coding, design, and data skills to write and test, and maintain code that delivers new features for our application portfolio as well as resolve reported bugs. This work will be focused in several key areas of our application portfolio. You will be an important part of a motivated team where we’ll be looking for you to collaborate with the team to drive application architecture, code quality, and make sure we are building the right things for our users. We want someone that has elevated through the software development ranks; possessing experience in designing and architecting highly scalable, secure, performant, and usable applications. The ideal candidate would possess experience in Salesforce technologies such as Apex, Standard web technology (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), Lightning Components, SQOL as well as server and client-side technology (React, Node.js, RESTful Webservices). Experience with orchestration and containerization platforms (Docker and Kubernetes) coupled with hands on persistence and data streaming technology experience (MySQL, Postgres, Redis, Kafka) will lend to providing superior capabilities for the position.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
- You will be building scalable, maintainable, and well-tested software solutions which are flexible enough to meet the requirements of multiple customers and stakeholders.
- Contribute to cross-functional troubleshooting and addressing issues within the systems
- Contribute and review code, set standards, and work with engineers to ensure product and design specifications are met
- Responsible for fundamental platform performance, scalability, and resiliency
- Maintain a deep understanding of our core systems and how they interact with upstream and downstream dependencies.
- Partner with stakeholders to refine requirements, and propose solutions to problems that span multiple teams
- Collaborate with other software engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver superior solutions and software
- Work independently to design, build, test, and deploy high quality software solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews
- Provide technical guidance and evangelize best practices.
- Balance resources, requirements, and complexity
- Any other duties needed to help achieve Business Objectives
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of related experience, including designing and architecting highly scalable, secure, performant, and usable applications (Web/Salesforce) using Apex, Flows, LWC, SQQL, etc.
- Experience in development and maintenance of custom Salesforce pages, objects, fields, and lightning components.
- Experience with Salesforce integrations such as Conga Composer.
- Demonstrated proficiency in integrating Salesforce with other platforms using Salesforce Connected App and APIs.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Salesforce roles, permission sets, dashboards, and reports.
- Ability to analyze and implement bug fixes as needed to resolve reported incidents.
- Some familiarity with cloud-based technologies such as AWS EC2, SQS, S3, Elasticsearch, Lambda, and Step Functions, and Fargate
- Experience with standard web technology (HTML, CSS, Java, and JavaScript)
- Experience with common backend technologies such as REST APIs, Microservice architectures, async programming
- Experience with build and deployment technologies such as Docker, Gitlab-CI, Terraform/Cloud formation, and Jenkins
- Experience with a wide range of data store technologies such as MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Postgres, and DynamoDB
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies. Can effectively articulate complex ideas and influence others through well-reasoned explanations
- Enjoy working within a team setting of engineers of varying experience
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Expertise with full lifecycle of application development, including best practices of unit testing, code reviews, documentation, etc.
Education
- BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent
Additional desired qualifications
- Previous work experience in media & entertainment distribution
- Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality results
- Knowledge of performance testing and application profiling
- Strong curiosity about how Disney delivers the Magic and a desire to be a part of it
- 4+ years relevant entertainment industry experience is a plus
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $136,100 to $182,400. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
