The Walt Disney Company's Games & Digital Entertainment business is one of the world's largest licensors of games across multiple platforms. Our teams work closely with internal and external development partners to create original stories through high-quality games and experiences inspired by the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios and more.

The Disney Digital Entertainment team is seeking a seasoned and innovative Senior Marketing Manager, Strategy to lead some of Disney Digital Entertainment’s most exciting licensed and vertical projects. This strategic and hands-on marketer will deliver forward-thinking campaigns across a group of projects and lead a team of high-performing marketers.

Putting players and storytelling at the heart of everything we do, the Disney Digital Entertainment marketing team partners with the world-class teams at Disney and works with top-tier industry talent to execute compelling campaigns that captivate audiences globally.

As a brand driver, storyteller, and creative marketer, you will develop new ideas, weave a compelling narrative, guide and collaborate with partners to deliver truly breakthrough audience experiences.

You will report to the Director of Marketing.

This is a Full-Time role

What You Will Do:

  • Strategic Marketing: lead the development and execution of GTM plans for a group of licensed and vertical projects to drive top-line growth and captivate audiences globally. Ensure marketing strategies align with the greater brand vision, proactively developing campaigns that are forward-thinking and deliver measurable business impact. 

  • Cross-Company Collaboration: lead the development of compelling, performance driven integrated synergy marketing campaigns for assigned projects globally (including region specific activations) that contribute positively to the brand. Partner with key internal stakeholders (including PR, Synergy, Studio Marketing and other Marketing Centers of Excellence across the company and more) to align marketing efforts and maximize impact.

  • Relationship Building & Partner Engagement: serve as a brand and partner champion for assigned projects, cultivating and strengthening positive, outcome-oriented relationships with partner marketing leads, building mutually beneficial and unique campaigns. Foster an environment of trust and transparency, effectively managing ongoing partner communications to ensure alignment and maximize shared success.

  • Data-Driven Insights: leverage market research, intelligence, and analytics to drive the thoughtful development of marketing plans. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish KPIs to measure marketing effectiveness and drive effective decision-making. Utilize market intelligence and consumer insights to assist in identifying future trends, advocating for the testing of new approaches, and shaping short- and long-term planning conversations.

  • Communication & Reporting: lead insightful marketing updates, postmortems, and performance reports tailored for a variety of audiences including executives, key stakeholders, and partners. Synthesize complex data into clear, compelling narratives, and actionable recommendations.

  • Leadership & Team Development: manage a high-performing team and their projects, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, innovation, and continuous improvement to achieve professional and personal development goals.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing and games; proven success in launching and cultivating high-profile, high-impact campaigns combined with 5+ years of working in the gaming industry and 3+ years of managing direct report(s).
  • Goal-oriented strategic, creative, and proactive problem solver with a proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
  • Experience in marketing world-class brands globally.
  • Demonstrated ability as a brand driver and storyteller — taking ownership beyond stewardship to create transformative audience experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence with a high-level of corporate professionalism, organizational savvy, accountability, ability to influence and sell strategies to a wide audience set.
  • Excellent analytical skills — ability to translate qualitative/quantitative data into actionable insights that get results.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a track record of writing and executing creative briefs, GTM plans, and postmortems that deliver clear business results.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented project manager; ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Proven success leading and developing marketing teams.
  • Deep knowledge of the entertainment landscape, pop culture, social media, and gaming media trends.
  • Creative thinker who is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives on bringing new ideas to life.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $153,200 to $205,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
