BUILD SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOURSELF

The Walt Disney Company, together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, is a leading diversified international family entertainment and media enterprise with the following business segments: Disney Entertainment, ESPN, Disney Parks, and Experiences and Products. From humble beginnings as a cartoon studio in the 1920s to its preeminent name in the entertainment industry today, Disney proudly continues its legacy of creating world-class stories and experiences for every member of the family. Disney’s stories, characters and experiences reach consumers and guests from every corner of the globe. With operations in more than 40 countries, our employees and cast members work together to create entertainment experiences that are both universally and locally cherished.

How you will contribute to our magical experience?

Disney Financial Insights (D-Fi) is a new platform reimagining how Finance teams and budget owners across Disney interact with financial data — replacing manual pulls, static reports, and email-driven approvals with one AI-powered, orchestrated experience built on top of Disney financial systems.

We're hiring the founding engineering team for this AI framework. One theme unifies every engineering role on D-Fi: autonomy and trust. You connect autonomous decisions back to the systems of record — ensuring every agent action is reflected, traceable, and auditable in Disney's core financial systems. You'll own the integration and systems connectivity layer that connects D-Fi to Disney's financial data ecosystem — SAP, EPM, procurement systems, and internal APIs — and the write-back integration that closes the loop between an approved decision in D-Fi and the system of record that reflects it.

The Lead Software Engineer (ERP/EPM) will be responsible for:

  • Own integration and systems connectivity. Build and maintain API integrations against SAP, EPM (Cognos or successor), procurement systems, and internal APIs.
  • Own the EPM write-back integration. Close the approval workflow loop so approved forecast changes submitted in D-Fi are reflected in the system of record without manual intervention.
  • Own notification and alerting integrations. Build and maintain integrations with Teams and email (or other interfaces) that surface agent outputs and workflow events to users in the channels they already work in.
  • Design for reliability and auditability. Build the middleware and connectivity layer so every integration produces a traceable record of what data moved, when, and why.
  • Own error handling for cross-system workflows. Design retry, failure, and reconciliation strategies for integrations where partial failure between systems could otherwise create silent data mismatches.

What we need from you to be part of this story:

  • 6-7+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in enterprise systems integration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree a plus but not required given equivalent experience.
  • Advanced level of English (must).
  • Demonstrated experience integrating with ERP/EPM platforms (SAP, Oracle EPM/Cognos, or similar) in a production environment.
  • Strong track record designing reliable, auditable middleware — this role is accountable when data moves incorrectly between systems.
  • Comfort designing for failure: retries, reconciliation, and error handling for integrations spanning multiple systems of record.
  • Background in finance, ERP, or enterprise systems integration is a strong plus, but not required — genuine curiosity about the domain is.

You'll be architecting, designing and writing production code.

AI/LLM:

  • Familiarity with how agentic workflows trigger downstream system actions, sufficient to design integration points that support autonomous execution safely.

Data & Databases:

  • Strong SQL fluency and experience mapping data models between disparate systems (e.g., SAP data structures to a unified data platform).
  • Familiarity with a modern cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred) as an integration target.

Programming Languages & Engineering:

  • Strong backend language fluency (e.g., Python, Java, or Node.js) for building integration services and middleware.
  • Deep experience with API design and integration patterns — REST, webhooks, message queues/event streaming (e.g., Kafka or equivalent).
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms or middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, or custom-built equivalents).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including reliability patterns like retries, circuit breakers, and dead-letter queues.

Enterprise Systems:

  • Direct experience integrating with modern data warehouses such as Snowflake and/or financial systems such as SAP or EPM are required.
  • Experience with procurement systems (e.g., Coupa) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and email notification/alerting integrations.

Additional Information:

At Disney, we believe it takes great people to create the memorable experiences, products and services our consumers know and love. We are a team of storytellers and hire under equal opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability and gender identity. At Disney, everyone has the opportunity to speak up and participate, grow and share ideas.

“You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.” Walt Disney
