Manager, Projects - Electrical
Job Summary:
The Manager, Projects – Electrical leads a team of project managers and engineers responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of Reedy Creek Energy Services(RCES) electrical utility infrastructure capital portfolio. This role provides strategic oversight of electrical improvement and new service projects, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery in alignment with RCES operational objectives, regulatory requirements, and long-term asset management strategies.
The position oversees all phases of project execution, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout, while managing project priorities, resources, risks, and stakeholder relationships. The Manager serves as the primary point of contact for customers, consultants, contractors, and utility partners and is responsible for fostering a strong safety culture across all projects.
Projects within the portfolio primarily include substations, distribution systems, underground and overhead electrical infrastructure, reliability improvements, capacity expansions, and customer service extensions, while also supporting multidisciplinary utility projects with significant electrical components.
The Manager Projects - Electrical will report to the Senior Manager, RCES Engineering & Programs.
This is a Full-Time on-site role.
What You Will Do
Responsible for the development, planning, execution, and closeout of all aspects of the portfolio management (with direct reports) throughout the project life cycle.
Responsible for timely issuance of field directives, obtaining costing concurrence from estimating, conversion to change orders, acquiring management approval to allow for accurate Estimated Final Cost (EFC) reporting, and timely project closeout.
Functional expertise with the ability to grasp new concepts and to effectively solve problems related to the design, construction, and operation of electrical utility systems.
Able to develop a project justification and build mitigation of operational impacts into the process.
Responsible for overall project safety, contractor project-specific safety plan approval, and compliance with the overall project safety plan.
Develop bid strategies with Reedy Creek Energy Services/Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.
Responsible for the development and implementation of project schedules for all aspects and resources for the entire project life cycle.
Establishes critical path tasks to ensure schedule compliance and ensures accurate resource loading to achieve the desired completion date.
Understanding of construction procedures for electrical systems, applicable codes, and requirements of local jurisdictional authorities.
Leads, mentors, and manages team to prioritize and accomplish high-impact project activities.
Trains individuals on project management processes, professional development, and looks for ways to incorporate inclusion within the team.
Required Qualifications & Skills
7+ years of experience in Engineering, Construction Management, or project management delivering large initiatives in the construction or industrial industry.
Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods and the ability to interpret design drawings and specs.
Demonstrated knowledge of construction and project management processes and purchasing/contract management.
Demonstrated expertise with construction finance (budgets, cash flows, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex projects while managing scheduling, operational, and financial constraints.
Proven ability to negotiate effective decision-making with clients and internal/external service providers across all project phases.
Demonstrated leadership ability.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in Engineering, Construction Management, or project management delivering large initiatives in the utility industry.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Registration as a professional engineer (PE) in the State of Florida
Proven ability to negotiate effective decision-making with clients and internal/external service providers across all project phases.
Education
Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, construction, mathematics or related field is required.

The hiring range for this position in Florida is $120,800.00 to $161,900.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
