Position Summary

Support and enhance the Youth Activities operation. Play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of youth entertainment offerings by guiding, collaborating with, and empowering front-line teams to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences. Execute established operational goals for Youth Activities while maintaining a strong focus on the safety and security of youth, Guests, and crew. Contribute to innovation and continuous process improvement efforts, helping to implement and sustain strategic operating plans.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution and continuous improvement of Youth Activities operations across shipboard and island locations, ensuring high-quality, safe, and engaging experiences for all Guests.

  • Support oversight of onboard and island youth spaces, ensuring maintenance standards are upheld, operational processes are followed, and enhancements are continuously explored to elevate the Guest experience.

  • Conduct regular audits of youth spaces to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and standards.

  • Drive the integration of creative entertainment across Youth Activities, representing departmental needs through active involvement in operational recommendations, participation in production planning and execution and proactively identifying opportunities to continuously elevate offerings.  Support the set-up and maintenance of product ordering for program sustainment and new initiatives.  Function as a liaison between all necessary shipboard and shoreside partners and ensure asset and program documentation remains accurate and up to date.

  • Champion the implementation and success of shipboard games, activities, programs and events, ensuring teams have the appropriate resources, documentation and guidance to deliver high quality offerings.

  • Partner to support the development and maintenance of protocols, policies, procedures, guidelines and facilitator guides, collaborating with Documentation and Training Standards teams seeing initiatives through to effective shipboard implementation.

  • Represent departmental objectives and cascade information or initiatives for approval as a part of shoreside committees, project teams and task forces, as well as liaise with events, media and public relations teams for shipboard events.

  • Champion the adoption and effective use of current, new and evolving technology platforms to enhance operational efficiency and the Guest experience.

  • Drive collaboration and creative problem-solving amongst lines of business while fostering cross-functional partnerships and support change initiatives that improve processes, remove barriers, and align operational goals.

  • Collaborate with partners to address labor needs, scheduling for onboard leaders and crew, and optimize resource allocation.

  • Partner to continuously support initiatives dedicated toward the maintenance and monitoring of shipboard succession planning, driving responsible leadership readiness, as well as talent acquisition, including implementing vision and strategy, assisting with interviews and guiding partners to support operational needs.

  • Serve as a key liaison for vendor sourcing and procurement activities, managing an annual operating expense budget. Collaborate with sourcing partners to identify new products and trends, ensure cost efficiencies, and address supply or delivery challenges. Support current operation sustainment, new builds and new initiative projects through sourcing efforts, including identifying alternate vendors as needed.

  • Assist in driving revenue performance for Youth Activities by supporting initiatives that meet or exceed established financial goals.

  • Maintain consistent and transparent communication with shipboard and shoreside Entertainment leadership, ensuring alignment on priorities, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Provide guidance and support to shipboard Youth Activities Managers to ensure delivery of safe, high-quality experiences, including reinforcing standards and ensuring necessary resources are in place.

  • SMS responsibility for upholding the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas under their control.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Entertainment, Recreation or similar operations

  • Minimum 18 months of professional childcare experience.

  • Strong understanding of safety protocols in a secured youth activities setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and pivot based on operational priorities and needs in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ability to take initiative and achieve results independently during periods of sustained organizational growth.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and continuous improvement process skills.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with partners, vendors, and industry organizations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to integrate seamlessly at all levels of the organization.

  • Fluent in Microsoft and Smartsheet.

  • Ability to lead a diverse team from afar.

Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years of leadership in a shipboard environment, or supporting shipboard leaders, or equivalent.

The hiring range for this position in Celebration, Florida is $83,000 to $111,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
