Job Summary:

The Disney Entertainment Television Kids Multiplatform Programming Strategy & Content Planning team is responsible for planning and implementing the programming strategy for all short form and long form content across all Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Jr. linear and nonlinear platforms.  Additionally, this team manages the Disney Branded Television Disney Channels YouTube channels and Nat Geo Kids YouTube channel.

The Disney Channels Multiplatform Programming Strategy and Content Planning Associate is responsible for implementing the content strategy for all content across all Disney Channel, Disney Jr., Disney XD, Disney Descendants and Nat Geo Kids YouTube, including other nonlinear platforms. This includes the accurate creation of schedules and metadata, ordering and distribution of short form video assets and all other duties related to TVE, VOD and other nonlinear platforms.  In partnership with key brand stakeholders, this individual will schedule all the assets needed for cohesive multi-platform content plans that drive audience engagement across our social/digital platforms. The Associate will recommend content plans, schedule updates and communicate all information and changes to key internal departments (i.e., Linear Scheduling, Broadcast Operations, Business Operations, Nonlinear Distribution, Franchise, Marketing, Current Series, Television Animation, Legal, Media Relations, Disney+, etc.) and various external partners.  The position requires an understanding of content scheduling, nonlinear platforms, and interest in children’s entertainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, update and maintain Disney Channel, Disney Jr., Disney XD, Disney Descendants and Nat Geo Kids video assets and schedules across all current and future digital platforms including, TVE, VOD and YouTube.
  • Coordinate YouTube Channel titles and descriptions and make real time updates for channel optimization and SEO.
  • Update Disney Channel and Disney Jr. priority YouTube video trackers.
  • Liaise with Marketing Teams to ensure cohesive multiplatform strategy driven by short form content.
  • Liaise with the research team to monitor performance of content across the multiplatform landscape and utilize that information to optimize in real time video performance.
  • Be responsible for the auditing and maintenance of content on various platforms post-launch.
  • Partner with content production groups (Original Programming, Short-form, Marketing, Social, etc.) to identify and direct content opportunities.
  • Partner with Platform Strategy team and relevant creative teams to identify all assets needed across the multi-platform landscape.
  • Edit video content for YouTube platforms making cutdowns and compilations.
  • As required, provide support for the wider Disney Channels Programming department including Programming presentations and cross training to support other channels and platforms and assisting on ad hoc projects.


Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in video content planning, programming, or scheduling related field
  • Familiarity with audience engagement strategies
  • Knowledge of the competitive media landscape including kids’ brands
  • Creative and strategic thinker who can solve complex problems and identify creative solutions
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize workflow and work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to build and manage relationships
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly, and work independently
  • Demonstrated experience with Airtable, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Google Docs, Power Point, Keynote

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Television or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • Experience with SEO and/or copywriting
  • Knowledge of the following systems a plus: Adobe Premiere, YouTube Analytics, M360, Bebanjo, SIMS and Mediator
  • Experience in a content creation role for social media
  • Interest in children’s programming


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $58,700.00 to $78,600.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
