Director, Americas Brand Commercialization
Job Summary:
The Director, Americas Brand Commercialization is responsible for leading and finalizing regional brand strategy for the Marvel and Star Wars portfolios across the Americas. Working closely with global brand partners and regional stakeholders, the role translates long-term franchise priorities into clear regional strategies that support brand growth, consumer engagement, and commercial objectives.
The role is responsible for setting strategic priorities and guiding the development of go-to-market frameworks. A critical component of the role is analyzing business performance, consumer trends, retail dynamics, and market opportunities to identify growth drivers, inform strategic decision-making, and shape future brand priorities. With a focus on long-range planning, the Director helps define the 24-month strategic roadmap for the region, ensuring brand strategies balance immediate opportunities with sustainable long-term growth.
As the senior regional brand lead for Marvel and Star Wars, the Director champions brand strategy across the organization, building alignment across category, retail, marketing, creative, finance, and global partners. The role serves as a key representative of the brand with senior internal stakeholders and strategic external partners, driving decision-making, prioritization, and execution against agreed business objectives. The role reports to the VP, Americas Brand Commercialization.
Responsibilities include:
Represent the franchise as a confident and engaging storyteller, delivering impactful presentations that build alignment, advocacy, and excitement.
Lead the development and finalisation of regional brand strategies and go-to-market frameworks for the Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios portfolios across the Americas, balancing near-term priorities with long-term franchise growth opportunities.
Define and oversee the 24-month regional brand roadmap, ensuring alignment with global priorities, long-term planning objectives, and annual business goals.
Leverage business performance, consumer insights, retail trends, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities, establish brand KPIs, and inform strategic decision-making.
Partner with Global Brand Commercialization teams and regional cross-functional stakeholders to shape franchise strategies, align priorities, and translate global direction into actionable regional plans.
Partner with cross-functional teams to embed brand priorities and strategic initiatives into the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), mobilising teams around key content releases, franchise initiatives, and growth opportunities.
Serve as the senior regional brand steward for assigned portfolios, ensuring brand integrity, consistency, and strategic alignment across key initiatives, partner engagements, and consumer-facing experiences.
Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
10+ years' experience in brand strategy, brand marketing, consumer products, licensing, or related commercial functions, ideally within entertainment, consumer goods, or a licensed environment.
Strong understanding of brand management, consumer products, licensing, and the Americas retail landscape, with the ability to translate insights and market dynamics into strategic recommendations and growth opportunities.
Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders across multiple functions, building alignment and driving outcomes within a complex matrix organization.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with experience leveraging business performance, consumer insights, and market trends to inform decision-making and long-term planning.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and people leadership skills, with the ability to represent a brand credibly with senior internal stakeholders, external partners, retailers, and licensees.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $185,500 to $248,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
