Manager-Construction
Job Summary:
As the Manager-Construction, you will ensure that all assigned projects are properly scoped, design and executed with an emphasis on strict scope, budget and schedule control. You will have full accountability for implementation of assigned projects according to established operating procedures and will be expected to take an active role in continually improving these processes. The position objective is to successfully manage each assigned project from inception to completion. The goal of this position is to continually deliver projects within approved budget and schedule with the highest quality and in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
Responsibilities/You Will
Safety:
Monitor the project safety program in close coordination with DLR Safety.
Ensure that the Field Superintendent/Construction Management team is obtaining final approval for contractor submitted safety plans and compliance to the project safety plan. Includes but is not limited to compliance with all regulatory (OSHA) requirements, corporate governance requirements and DLR safety requirements.
Planning/ Development/ Implementation:
Function as the Project Team's primary representative providing construction management guidance and leadership.
Coordinate multiple projects with several variables, setting realistic deadlines and managing timelines.
Provide a variety of information to DLR Cast Members and Business Partners, contributing to projects and assisting workflow throughout the organization.
Attend pre and post bid scope reviews/ constructability reviews on projects in design phases.
Develop project implementation strategies and schedules with support of Facilities Asset Management (FAM) Project Schedulers.
Assist Project Managers in project options analysis.
Responsible for the project schedule, establishing critical path task to ensure schedule compliance and ensuring proper man loading requirements of the contractor to achieve the desired completion date.
Coordinate operational constraints and job objectives together as to achieve a seamless project. Including but not limited to timely communication with Business Partners, Clients and Management regarding project status, schedule, financial and guest impacts.
Communicate project information effectively to lines of business client and all impacted Resort divisions and Management.
Technical Competency:
Utilize project and contract management systems into the daily operation of the business.
Provide constructability analysis and value engineering recommendations.
Develop and enter the daily field reports into the Project Management software system.
Generate and review information/scopes on field directives. Ensures contractor manufacturer compliance with contract drawings and specifications, applicable codes and Disney Standards.
Focus on continuous performance improvement and efficiency.
Focus on safety and financially driven decisions.
Provide technical information to the Estimator to allow for accurate budgeting.
Facilitate meetings with Executives in a professional manner.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with Team Members, Customers, Clients and Contractors.
Partner with all lines of business to ensure the final product best meets the intended business objective.
Partner with Program Managers and Project Managers in regard to change orders, field directives and project cost impacts to allow for accurate EFC reporting.
Mentor and coach other Cast Members to assist with their career.
Monitor Cast Member’s (Reports) training and personal development plan.
Basic Qualifications/You Will Have
Minimum of eight years’ experience with Construction Supervisor experience of multiple commercial construction projects ranging from $10,000 to $30,000,000.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage people.
Experience managing/supervising multiple projects.
Experience reading, reviewing, and interpreting contract documents/specifications.
Experience preparing project budgets.
Experience using various software programs such as construction management software and Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience with OSHA Rules and Regulations.
Required Education
High School Diploma.
Special classes in building construction (MEP, estimating, reading contract documents).

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $126,800.00 to $170,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographical region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
