GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for Civil engineering design, analysis, and calculations for large or high complex site/area development projects that require advanced technical specialty (hydrology/hydraulic) within Civil Engineering function with no supervision.
CORE FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a technical expert in civil engineering design of a theme park. Responsible for civil engineering designs, analyses, and calculations for site development projects of varying complexity. Organize and develop project design criteria, engineering design estimate, basis of design and engineering work plans. Provide administrative and technical direction to in-house engineers and designers, and to outside consultants in the production of construction contract documents. Monitor progress of work and ensure that technical quality, interdisciplinary coordination and production requirements are met. Monitor performance against the project design schedule, budget and earned value. Ensure conformance to department standards, procedures, and specifications. Perform peer reviews of work products of other department staff. Become completely familiar with related WDI design standards and be able to edit civil sections to WDI master specifications. Manage consultants in obtaining Building Department approvals on schedule. Answer construction bid period questions and respond to and resolve field issues as required.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional registration in the field of Civil or Structural engineering. Graduate of an accredited school of Engineering, with a Bachelor of Engineering Advanced degree in the field of Civil/structural engineering is desirable. Minimum of 10-20 years of work experience in civil / structural / geotechnical engineering, with experience in the production and use of design drawings and specifications for major commercial or industrial projects. Relevant design experience in ELS, site formation, drainage and underground utilities coordination. Experienced in the construction phase with submittal/shop drawing review process and on-site field inspections. Experience in Statutory submissions and liaison with Government departments.
TECHNICAL AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS:
Engineering design and analysis experience in drainage and ELS design Broad knowledge of the structural engineering discipline, including industry practices, construction methods and materials, codes, current technology and the preparation and use of contract documents in all phases of design and construction. Broad knowledge of CAD and Civil 3D design technology and BIM technology Ability to work independently with minor supervision, and to thrive in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline project team environment. Experienced in managing engineering consultants in design delivery. Ability to collaborate with a team of various discipline engineers and designers in the production of construction documents for complex projects through all phases of design. Strong written and oral communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills.
JOB SPECIFIC SCOPE POTENTIAL:
Project Scope: Responsible for the Civil design in Area Development and/or management of consultants in multiple HongKong Disneyland expansion projects
