About the Role & Team

The Enterprise Environmental Sustainability Team at The Walt Disney Company stewards the Company’s progress towards its ambitious 2030 Environmental Goals focused on emissions, water, waste, materials, and sustainable design. We actively partner with key corporate functions and business segments to set sustainability goals, influences implementation of sustainability goals, and leads external reporting of progress against goals. As aggregators of Enterprise-wide environmental performance data and initiative inventories, we have a big-picture oversight role for all company efforts driving progress towards the goals.

What You Will Do

The Value Chain Emissions team within the Enterprise Environmental Sustainability Team is responsible for developing The Walt Disney Company’s (TWDC) Scope 3 emissions inventory including data gathering, reporting, and continuous improvement. The team also partners with other teams across the enterprise to engage suppliers in measuring and reducing their emissions, as well as ensuring accurate accounting of scope 3 and other sustainable supply chain efforts. As part of the Value Chain Emissions team, the Analyst role will support evaluation of systems and methods to ensure increased accuracy of Scope 3 inventory while improving TWDC’s readiness for Scope 3 regulatory reporting.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Ensure software data management requirements for Scope 3 inventory accounting are implemented in a software solution to align with TWDC’s value chain complexity and multi-sectoral presence.

  • Collaborate and partner with multiple team members, including internal information technology (IT), sourcing, and key data area leads to support onboarding and implementation of a software solution for TWDC’s Scope 3 emissions inventory calculations and reporting. Implementation includes training power users and data contributors on the software solution.

  • Create data maintenance procedures and process for tracking the impacts of inventory methodology changes and ensure ongoing integration with software solution.

  • Assist with collection of large data sets from a variety of internal and external sources, organize data, clean and transform data into needed formats for further analysis. Prepare and maintain templates as needed for data collection and calculations.

  • Conduct QA/QC of input data and calculations, troubleshoot inconsistencies in data or calculations; Assist in completion of internal validation and 3rd party verification of data and calculations

  • Stay abreast of the latest guidance around Scope 3 including methodology updates, best practices, new regulations, and industry standards

  • Develop and maintain credibility with a large network of internal partners, conduct regular follow-ups during data collection, validation, verification processes. Participate in frequent meetings, communicate status of data collection and calculation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in environmental sustainability, GHG Protocol, lifecycle analyses, Scope 3 emissions, software implementation, project management

  • Carbon accounting software

Required Education

Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science, Engineering

Preferred Education

Master’s degree in environmental engineering/management, environmental science


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $ 70,000 to $93,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
